      More Information

Preparing For The Three Day Cursillo Weekend

The more you know about the weekend before you go, the better. Your sponsor can share this information with you. There is also information in our publication "Cursillo, What is It?" and in our promotional flyer found on this website.

The weekend consists of several talks/discussions, daily mass, opportunities for the sacrament of reconcilliation, spiritual direction, prayer, and fellowship.  Feel free to ask your sponsor and others about the Cursillo experience (not just the weekend, but your 4th Day as well).

Your questions will help you come prepared to enter into the wonderful weekend experience and be open to everything that comes after the weekend in your 4th day.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old. The candidate should have a mature attitude and be responsible for his/her actions, and must be in good standing and full communion with the Catholic Church.

You will share a room and bathroom with at least one other person.

You should bring the following items:

      1. Towel and washcloth
      2. Personal toiletries (soap, deoderant, toothpaste, etc.)
      3. Sleeping bag or blanket, sheets, pillow and pillowcase (you will be sleeping in a single bed)
      4. Robe and slippers
      5. Comfortable clothes for the three days (jeans, shorts, sweats, etc.)
      6. Nice clothes for Sunday Mass
      Optional
      1. Ear plugs (if other people snoring keeps you awake)
      2. Flashlight
      3. Small fan (for white noise or additional cooling)
      4. Bring your Bible or one will be provided
      5. Small amount of spending money or checkbook for books, tapes, etc.

There is a suggested fee for the weekend which covers the entirety of materials, food and lodging for the weekend. This fee should not prevent any candidate from experiencing the Weekend. If the amount imposes a financial hardship, please discuss options with your sponsor.
